I came across a quote that had inspired me recently
“You can’t control the wind, you can only control your sails”
We like to think we know ourselves, but we don’t. We are constantly ever changing and irrationally fickle.
Its not til until something unfortunate/fortunate happens in our life. Usually something unfortunate has a bigger impact on us and our behavior, but extremely fortunate things such as fame, money, power are just as dangerous.
When something happens in our life, we react. For whatever reason, whether it was how we were raised, the values instilled in us, society, or some kind of divine intervention; we react in a certain way to situations. For better/for worse. A person may take a death in the family and grow from it, or a person will become hateful and full of rage. Love or hate the world. There may be no reason why we react in a certain way; may just be some sort of internal predisposition from higher powers at work. Regardless, its the way you react, that is your true self, your colors are showing. You can cover up and act all you want; pathologically lie to yourself even.
